The Administrative Unit of Reverted Assets (UABR) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), led an inter-institutional cleaning day in the Amador Causeway, attending to requests from the community, said the executive secretary of the UABR, Fernando Paniagua.

Crews from the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Public Works participated in the cleaning and grooming.

"The goal is to finish with all 19 hectares of the Amador Causeway and once finish, then go to the Coastal Strip," Paniagua said.

The executive secretary of the UABR, made a call to all citizens and families in general, to ensure the correct disposal of garbage in the area designated for this purpose and confirmed that "this inter-institutional work is being done as a palliative until, they are ready the formal maintenance contracts that are in the process of endorsement”.

Paniagua added that it is an administrative procedure that is being carried out with the ministries and the Comptroller General of the Republic, and "hopefully next week, we will have the green light for the corresponding orders to proceed."

Basically, “we are talking about contracts that have a duration of 36 months that will guarantee the cleaning and maintenance of the Amador Causeway, every two weeks. The goal is to have a corresponding and adequate cleaning standard for this tourist area,” Paniagua concluded.
