UABR enabled public school in reverted areas

Supporting the “CON Escuelas 2022” operation

The Administrative Unit of Reverted Assets (UABR) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), actively supported the CON Escuelas 2022 operation of the National Government led by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, whose main objective was to enable schools to guarantee the safe return to classes, prior to the pandemic, reported the entity's Executive Secretary, Fernando Paniagua.

A complete evaluation of the Omar Torrijos Herrera Bilingual School, located in Paraíso, district of Ancón, was carried out to identify the essential needs of the school in the short term, as well as the maintenance work that must be carried out in the future, Paniagua stressed.

He added that the staff of the Department of Public Infrastructure of the UABR, was in charge of carrying out painting, plumbing, welding, electricity, masonry, cleaning of green areas and tree trimming. In addition, the replacement of 17 new air conditioners was managed within the campus in question, said the Executive Secretary of the UABR. Likewise, the National Institute supported with painting and electrical work.

He stressed that, at the Omar Torrijos Herrera Bilingual School, they replaced the floor in four classrooms, the external, internal areas were painted, also placed a new canopy to prevent students from suffering the effects of the rains.

“I am satisfied to support the students in the reverted areas with the safe return process, and offer them adequate infrastructure,” Paniagua emphasized.

The Omar Torrijos Herrera campus, located in Paraíso, is a bilingual public school within the reverted areas and will be enabled to receive 700 primary level students, due to the efforts of UABR, concluded the Executive Secretary.
