UABR has not received a formal request for the landfill project in Amador

The Administrative Unit of Reverted Assets (UABR) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), disclaimed responsibility for the 50-hectare marine fill project that will be developed in Amador, Ancón district, since "it is not a project that has not been evaluated, nor does it have a formal request at the UABR”, said the executive secretary of this unit, Fernando Paniagua.

“To date we have not received a copy or detailed information on what the landfill project consists of, we have not formally received any request, any query, neither by the company and investors that want to do the landfill, nor by the Maritime Authority. From Panama,” Paniagua assured.

I explain that it can be thought that since it is a landfill for the use of the seabed in Amador and that apparently contemplates mixed economic activities, that it adjoins the Finca Madre de Amador, administered by UABR, which is in charge of the custody and development of the reverted areas, we should be an integral part of it and be able to evaluate it, but this has not been the case.

“Definitely, at a given moment any landfill project that contemplates mixed uses in Amador must carry the evaluation of the UABR, but in this particular case we have not seen, nor do we have information," reiterated the Executive Secretary.
